Kurt Furan
VOICE, PIANO, TRUMPET, VIOLIN & MORE
Kurt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Brigham Young University - Idaho. He has been exposed to many different styles of music from his infancy, and always enjoyed listening to good music. As a teen, his Orchestra teacher helped him to discover the love and joy in performing. This experience became his first inspiration to study music in college, as well as to become a music teacher himself. In both Junior and Senior years of High School, he participated in the Washington Music Educators Association's All-State choir, and has since rarely gone more than a year without participation in some form of community or school choir. In college, he studied vocal performance and participated in various choral and operatic performances, striving to learn what he could about various performance styles. He also took it upon himself to become proficient in a multitude of string, brass, and woodwind instruments, including all that one usually finds in a basic public school band or orchestra. Despite knowing that it will take time without a degree in Education, Kurt is currently pursuing a career in public music education, but immediately after graduation sought out other opportunities to teach music while he gets settled.
